Fricandel

Delicious 2-inch meatballs, which can be served, as a side dish or as part of a rijsttafel. |
| Ingredients: 2 pound lean ground beef 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper 2 tsp garlic powder 1 1/2 tsp djinten 1/2 tsp nutmeg 2 tsp ketjap * 1/4 cup ketjap** 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup diced onion 1/2 cup diced leeks 1/4 cup diced cliranto or Italian parsley 2 boiled potatoes 1 egg |
Preparation: Smash potatoes. Mix ground beef, smashed potatoes, egg, salt and pepper, garlic, nutmeg, djinten and 2 tsp of ketjap*. When thoroughly mixed, add onion, leeks and cliranto and mix again. Make 2-inch balls out of this mixture and fry them on all sides in some margarine. When brown on all sides, add 1/4 cup ketjap**, the water and let it simmer for 10 minutes. |
