Babi nanas

  (pork center loin with pineapple)

 

This is a delicious dish, which can be served as part of a rijsttafel or as a main dish with boiled or fried rice.

Ingredients:

2 pound pork loin

1 (16 oz) can pineapple slices

1 green bellpepper

1 red bellpepper

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp sambal oelek

2 tbsp. Ketjap

2 tsp corn starch

2 tbsp. Water

1/2 cup diced leeks

1/4 cup vegetable oil

Preparation

Cut the pork in 1-inch pieces.

Cut the pineapple in the same size.

Cut the bellpeppers in small pieces.

Mix cornstarch with water.

Heat oil in wok or frying pan, add meat, sambal oelek and garlic powder and fry for 3 minutes.

Add bell peppers and pineapple and cook for an other 3 minutes.

Add ketjap and corn starch mix and stir this together. Bring this to a boil and boil for 3 minutes.

When it becomes to thick, you can add some water.

At the last moment, add the leeks and some salt to taste.
