- Fish

Coriander - 2 tsp

Cumin seeds - 1 tsp

Peppercorns 6

Cloves - 4

Cinnamon - small piece

Turmeric stick - 1 piece

Garlic - 12 flakes

Kokum - 4

Tamarind extract - 1 tsp

Onion (finely chopped) - 1

Tomato, finely chopped - 1

Sugar - 1/2 tsp
- Oil
- 2 Tbl.sp
- Salt
to taste

Grind chilies, coriander, cumin, peppercorns, cloves, cinnamon,
turmeric and garlic.
- Salt
fish and set aside.
-
Sauté onion and then add tomato.
- Cook
for a few minutes before adding ground spices and 1 cup water.
- When
this comes to a boil, add fish.
- Let
it cook for 10 minutes, then add tamarind juice and kokum.
- Cook
until fish is done.

Finally add 1/2 tsp sugar.

Serve hot with rice.
